Module Description: The module is designed to allow students appreciate theories and techniques relating to leadership and change management in organisations in uncertain environments and through case studies inform them to deal effectively with that change.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Demonstrate an understanding of the current leadership theories and how they apply to the modern organisation
LO2 Analyze the impact of effective leadership strategies on organisational performance
LO3 Critically analyse the strategies which must be implemented in the change process
LO4 Analyze the issues in leading organisational change effectively

Strategic Leadership
How leaders influence organisational performance,conditions affecting the need for strategic leadership, developing leadership skills, managing diversity
Change Management Techniques
Diagnosing change, managing major changes, change architecture, strategies for organisational effectiveness.
Leading Change
The Challenge of organisational change, Organisational structures: choice and leadership, the transformation perspective. Theories of change: traditional models, critical perspectives, strategic maangement models.Themes & Issues in Organsiational Change: Sustaining organisational effectiveness, leadership in practice,the learning organisation and strategies for change.
