Module Description: This module covers the basic techniques and technologies (including HTML and CSS) involved in web design with web standards.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Describe fundamental computer and internet concepts relating to web design
LO2 Employ the environments in which their web designs will be deployed.
LO3 Use a simple web markup language.
LO4 Apply styles to their markup
LO5 Demonstrate an awareness of Web Design considerations, namely alignment, contrast, proximity, repetition and grid layout.

Understanding markup, character sets, web standards, HTML 5, Semantic Markup, Logical Tags

Tags, attributes, logical versus physical tags, inline vs block tags, basic tags, tables, images, links, style sheets.
CSS
Styles, Selectors, Properties, Positioning, Measurements, Layouts, Grid
