The learner will undertake a relevant work placement or project of no less than 10 weeks. The programme will familiarise the learner with work practices and procedures and
provide the learner with the opportunity to observe the practical application of theoretical
knowledge gained on his/her programme. The placement/project is supported by a member of
academic staff in CIT together with a workplace mentor where applicable. The aim of the industrial placement is to introduce the learner to structured employment in a relevant work sector and to develop in the learner an understanding of the organisation, its procedures and technology.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

Apply knowledge, skills and competencies acquired during the programme of study to the analysis and
solution of workplace problems
LO2
Write a comprehensive report on the placement/project and provide an oral presentation based on that report
