This module develops a deeper understanding of drafting, proportion, pictorial structure and control of relevant media. |
Learning Outcomes |
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to: |

Demonstrate an advanced articulation in the drafting and checking of a life study. |
LO2 |
Show the adaptation of pictorial structure and control of line and tone. |
LO3 |
Critque own work and that of colleagues. |
LO4 |
Display an advanced application of at least two media. |

Module Content & Assessment
Indicative Content |
Life Drawing
Measurement and proportion,use of angles, composition, control of line
and tone, weight and balance, depicting form and structure, spatial relationships. Observational drawing
from life, experimental drawing from life, mark-making as process and language.

Drawing Media and Approaches
Charcoal, graphite, emulsion (restricted palette). Drawing and mark-making using non-conventional tools -
sponge, twigs, plastic, card. White cartridge paper, brown paper, newsprint.

Workshop Practice
Basic Health & Safety. Awareness of environmental and etiquette considerations in the Life Room.
