Module Description: Strategy is central to defining the direction and creating competitive advantage in the marketplace for all organisations. This module will allow learners to explore and develop strategies in multiple organisation types which will assist in engaging and enhancing one's strategic leadership skills.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Critically analyse approaches to problem solving, decision making, and risk taking for businesses which operate as interactive Dynamic Systems.
LO2 Conduct an indepth environmental analysis with consideration of resource issues which underpin strategy.
LO3 Analyse the selection and choice of corporate strategy in line with best practice.
LO4 Critique the implementation phase at the appropriate strategic levels.
LO5 Assess how complex organisations grow, innovate and change.
LO6 Critically analyse the role of corporate strategy in an organisation's performance in an International context.
LO7 Critically evaluate planned and emergent corporate strategies to competitive and environmental changes.
LO8 Evaluate strategic acquisitions, alliances, partnerships, mergers, co-optation and their role in corporate strategy.

Written Report The students working in groups will present a feasibility report on their live case study. Students are assigned to groups (4/5 per group) randomly, by the lecturer, at the beginning of the semester. Group work involves these students coming together to analyse, research and discuss their topic which allows them to underpin the learning outcomes. 1,2 30.0 Week 4
Project The students will critically analyse and evaluate an organisations (live case study) corporate strategy and present a detailed written report and presentation on their suggested choice of progress in the short, medium and long term.The method of assessment used involves problem-based learning individually and in groups.
