Module Description: |
The placement aims to give students the opportunity to directly experience the work practices and procedures in a photography and video related work environment in a local, national or international setting. It allows the student to observe the practical application of the theoretical knowledge and practical skills gained on the programme. The student is supported by a CIT member of academic staff along with a workplace mentor. |

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to: |

critically appraise the operations of the professional placement environment, looking at its culture, its work practices, its organisation and the technology involved. |
LO2 |
complete work under the direction of a mentor and other professional team members. |

display a professional manner and attitude at all times within the placement. |

apply the knowledge and skills acquired on the programme of study within the professional placement. |
LO5 |
report on the activities completed during their work placement. |

Appraising the Placement Environment
Critically appraising the operations of the placement environment, looking at its culture, its work practices, its organisation and the technology involved.

Communication
Communicating effectively with placement mentor, college supervisor and other placement team members. Using e-mail, attending meetings, giving presentations, liaising within and between teams.

Personal Development and Initiative
Professional attitudes and work practices. Personal responsibility for activities, learning and engagement within the placement.

Teamwork
Work under the direction of a mentor and other professional team members to complete assignments.

Application of Learning to the Workplace
Application of the knowledge and skills acquired on the programme of study within the professional placement.
