Module Description: Live Gig Sound Reinforcement. This module develops the understanding of Live Sound Equipment (Sound Engineering) and good practice in its operation, covering both digital and analogue setups for concerts and performances.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Identify and describe the ubiquitous equipment required for a standard PA system.
LO2 Explain Signal Path from source to processing to amplification.
LO3 Successfully produce the sound for a live event.
LO4 Display practical consideration of Health and Safety issues.

Health & Safety
Health & Safety protocols for concerts and live events. Examination of H&S legislation in Ireland and Europe.
Signal Path
A thorough investigation of the path of the Audio Signal through a PA.
Setting up for Live Sound
Placement of mics for live sound. Placement of speakers for live sound. Using foldback. Avoiding feedback.
