Module Description: To begin to integrate technical and artistic aspects of dance through expressive and informed personal skills, including a professional attitude toward physical culture.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Deepen the experiences of the essential styles and techniques acquired in dance practice
LO2 Exhibit a confident personal, expressive stylistic consistency.
LO3 Display the ability to devise with accuracy and precision within the context of advanced Musical Theatre conventions.
LO4 Apply intelligent engagement with the work and approaches of key practitioners at an advanced level.
LO5 Exemplify a professional level of physical dance culture

Module Content & Assessment

Indicative Content
Dance Technique
Students will be taught advanced exercises developing stamina, strength, mobility, control, isolation work, pirouettes, steps of elevation and travel including a repertoire of lifts and partner work.
Practical Skills
The student will develop more complex routines and combinations in a variety of styles which may include past/present Musical Theatre repertoire.
Physical Skills
Enable students to increase versatility in their physical skills and integrate their knowledge across all musical theatre disciplines preparing the student for the practical and physical demands of dance within musical theatre productions
