Module Description: This module prepares the student for the rigours of the profession, consolidating technique and establishing flexible warm-ups for a range of styles and genres
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Warm-up the singing voice for performance and rehearsal in a range of genres
LO2 Identify the onset of vocal problems such as vocal fatigue and take appropriate remedial steps
LO3 Follow a programme of agility, flexibility and stamina exercises for continuous professional development
LO4 Apply a range of vocal technique to achieve a range of characterisation and 'acting through song'
LO5 Reflect on process and personal potential

Voice Types
Identify and understand the characteristics of the different voice types (fachs) found in musical theatre
Warming up
Becoming familiar with a range of warm-ups suitable for typical musical theatre situations
Vocal development
Devising a personal programme that will lead to continuous vocal development and improvement
Acquiring a vocabulary of vocal phrases that can be turned to embellish or characterise a performance
Developing a professional level of vocal sight-reading
Choosing suitable specific repertoire for a terminal recital
