Module Description: This is the fourth in a progressive skills-centered module. The student will learn to sing with technical security and mature stylistic awareness
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Demonstrate secure technical skills in a wide diversity of styles specific to a particular era from classical music theatre to popular
LO2 Present vocal exercises and studies in a wide diversity of styles from classical music theatre to popular, utilising acquired Legit and Popular/Belt vocal techniques
LO3 Present a programme of musical theatre repertoire demonstrating acquired technical skills, contrasting styles and moods, and an appreciable ability to 'act through song'
LO4 Perform a previously unseen song to the appropriate level in any style within the context of musical theatre
LO5 Reflect on learning and practice

Development of technical proficiency and stylistic diversity through exercises and vocalise in Legit and Popular/Belt vocal disciplines
Analysis
Analysis of technical considerations and characterisation of era-specific repertoire in both Legit and Popular/Belt vocal disciplines
Repertory Study
Exploration of era-specific repertoire integrating independent research of the development of music theatre genres and styles
Music Literacy
Development of sight-reading skills and responses to a previously unseen musical theatre song in Legit or Popular/Belt vocal disciplines
Reflective Practice
Reflection of practice and progress by submission to blog facility on Canvas.
