Module Description: The second in a developmental series of skill-centered modules. It will enable the student to expand on fundamental technical, rhythmic and stylistic performance skills.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Demonstrate integration of correct physical alignment and breath control.
LO2 Demonstrate consolidated fundamental skills in repertory from a prescribed era and a growing ability to 'act through song'
LO3 Present vocal etudes demonstrating techniques required in both Legit and Popular/Belt vocal styles
LO4 Present a previously unseen song in either Legit or Popular/Belt vocal style
LO5 Reflect on vocal learning, research and practice in both Legit and Popular/Belt vocal styles

Technique
To consolidate awareness of the importance of correct body alignment and basic vocal technique while addressing basic challenges caused by poor posture through exercises and vocalise
Repertory Studies
To expand knowledge of musical theatre repertoire specific to a prescribed era examining both Legit and Popular/Belt vocal styles
Analysis
Analysis of stylistic characteristics of era specific repertoire in Legit and Popular/Belt vocal styles
Music Literacy
Consolidation of basic sight-reading skills appropriate to level and vocal style
Reflective Practice
Reflection on individual practice and progress through blog facility on Canvas.
