Module Description: This module enables the learner to develop a knowledge of the field of Irish Traditional Music from both historical and social perspectives and examines the various influences and developments both within the tradition and in relation to associated organisations.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Analyse details of form, structure and tune types
LO2 Examine the concept of ornamentation and innovation within the tradition
LO3 Evaluate Irish Traditional Music in its historical and social context
LO4 Engage in active class discussion and contribute to subjective evaluation
