Module Description: Creative Theatrical Sound Design
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Rig and operate theatre sound equipment
LO2 Draw-up and realise plans for production sound rig
LO3 Use audio software to create and realise a sound design
LO4 Exploit the main features of a modern digital mixing desk
LO5 Deploy and maintain different microphone types and their associated hardware

Mixing Desk, microphones - hard-wired and wireless, speakers, equalizers, sound reproduction equipment
Computer Sound Design
Using cueing software and modern DAWs to create and trigger sound designs
Sound Quality
microphone and speaker placement and optimisation, acoustics, psychoacoustics, equalization, effects and digital bit-rates
Design Principles
Creative use of sound, foley techniques
