This module provides progressive individual instrumental/vocal instruction appropriate to the learner's level of ability, concentrating on fluency in playing and encouragement of individual artistic intentions

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

Execute a repertoire of technical and musical content smoothly and accurately

Demonstrate competence in the technical patterns and movements necessary for fluency on the instrument
LO3
Manipulate the direction of the musical line exhibiting an understanding of an expressive tone and a wide dynamic range
LO4
Play a selected Quick study/Orchestral excerpt(s) to a level of proficiency
LO5
Show ability and fluency in delivery of an unprepared piece at sight

An individualised programme of instrumental skills incorporating work on technical competence and fluency, and on broadening the dynamic range in expression. It consists of advanced scales and arpeggios and Instrumental/Vocal studies, Quick Study/Orchestral excerpts, Sight-Reading, Solo/Accompanied repertory representing different composers/styles
