Module Description: This module gives participants a grounding in core group facilitation skills within a creative arts context. Basic theory of group process will be explored. Students will have the opportunity to practice their skills within a peer group context.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Design and facilitate a series of workshops within a group setting
LO2 Explain, apply and evaluate workshop structure, including the role of beginnings and endings within group work.
LO3 Evaluate and reflect on their facilitative role
LO4 Design aim appropriate art, drama, music and movement based exercises
LO5 Evaluate and record outcomes in group work practice

Module Content & Assessment

Indicative Content
Workshops
Students will be introduced to; the role of workshop structure within group work, the role of recording and evaluating in group work. Students will explore the use of creative methodologies in a range of group work situations. Students will engage in peer facilitation as a means of exploring and evaluating their role as a facilitator.
Work Practice
Students will facilitate a 1 hour workshop
Problem Solving
Problem solving around group dynamics/ situations that arise will be explored looking at interventions with an emphasis on disability issues
