Computer Music 1 explores alternative methods of sound creation and expression, presenting the tools and techniques for this form of expression and facilitating the composition of electro-acoustic music.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

Creatively use a variety of packages (including cutting edge music technology) to compose audio pieces.

Incorporate accepted and novel techniques for composition and explore new sound worlds in a manner informed by experimentation.

Analyse various electronic works by key Irish and International composers.

Critically discuss elements of the history of Electronic Music composition.
LO5
Satisfactorily perform their own computer-based compositions.
