Module Description: This module explores perception and drawing concepts in Fine Art practice as a means of extending the learner's art vocabulary.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Utilise skills within traditional life drawing processes; demonstrate proficiency and confidence and the ability to accurately draft and check a life figure in space.
LO2 Display critical awareness in exploration and experimentation through drawing media including pictorial structure, surface and format.
LO3 Demonstrate through their drawings, the formal value that different drawing processes and media can communicate
LO4 Evaluate relevant critical and practical research.
LO5 Apply correctly etiquette and health and safety requirements when working in a life room with a life model.

Module Content & Assessment

Indicative Content
Compile and record documentation of class based visual experiments. Collect relevant sources of contemporary exhibition and critical reviews.
Group Critique
Critical and contextual group discussions centred on a range of traditional and non-traditional fine art drawing practices. Analyse and develop an understanding of drawings varied function within a multifarious media artscape.
Introduction to accurate analytic observational drawing techniques with a life model exploring traditional and non-traditional processes, pictorial structure and surface. Experimentation and enquiry of the art work's physical and perceptual values, methods of display, interaction with the environment.
