Module Description: This module builds on the principles of human resource management to allow the development of human resource strategies. It outlines the role HR plays in the overall development of corporate strategy while dealing with the complexities of the 21st century workforce.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Discuss contemporary approaches to human resource strategy and its contribution to the overall business strategy.
LO2 Compare and contrast the existing and emerging employment legislation and its impact on the HR function.
LO3 Assess the current issues and trends in human resource analytics and its impact on the HR decision making process.
LO4 Analyse workforce diversity and its impact in shaping HR strategies.
LO5 Appraise strategies for managing talent with a changing workforce profile.

Employer branding, the diverse workforce, challenges to HR of managing a diverse workforce, contributions to organisational success.
Labour Force Trends
Labour force trends, globalisation of talent, offshoring, skills gaps, multi generational workforce, challenges for talent management.
