Module Description: |
This module will provide the learner with an understanding of moving a company's Human Resources (HR) practices into the international arena. It will provide the student with a comprehensive and critical knowledge in human resources management theory and its application in different countries and cultural contexts. |
Learning Outcomes |
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to: |
LO1 |
Apply the strategic issues involved in the management of human resources in an international context. |
LO2 |
Critically evaluate different international perspectives and country cultural contexts on Human Resources Management (HRM). |
LO3 |
Discuss the impact of organisational design on the internationalisation of the Human Resources function. |
LO4 |
Appraise the challenges of corporate social responsibility and its relationship to international human resources management. |
LO5 |
Critique the repatriation programmes available for international firms. |

Contribution of CSR to HRM, integration into the HR function, reporting corporate social responsibiltiy issues.

Recruitment, Managing and Developing People
Recruitment and selection, learning styles in an international context, performance management and rewards, expatriate performance, expatriate pay and repatriation of staff.
