On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to: |

Explain the role and functions of the Rooms Division Department in the hotel and demonstrate a knowledge of the laws relating to the provision of accommodation. |
LO2 |
Describe the product offerings in the accommodation sector and explain the range of operational issues affecting the acccommodation sector. |
LO3 |
Identify the responsibilities of various Front Office positions. |
LO4 |
Apply and use a Hospitality Property Management System . |
LO5 |
Identify and explain best practice in Rooms Division with an emphasis on current trends. |

Responsibilities and role of the Room Division Manager. Selling in Rooms Division. Customer profile, maximising revenue and occupancy. Factors influencing purchasing decisions and the role of reception office as a sales department. Promotional materials and front office database maintenance
