Module Description: |
This module introduces the learner to industry standards used in Engineering Drawing. Drawings are produced following technical drawing procedures. Industry specific AutoCAD software is used. |

Drawing Standards
Relevant drawing standards, drawing conventions, line types, line thicknesses.

AutoCAD software
AutoCAD commands such as draw, modify, zoom, format, dimension, layers. AutoCAD help command.

File Management
Storage of software files on the institute's student network. Generate sub-folders. Naming convention for files. Retrieval of backup drawings.

Templates and Plotting
Generate and use drawing templates for A2, A3 and A4 sized sheets. Use of Layout and Paper Space. AutoCAD plot options.

Orthographic Projection
Drawing in first and third angle projections. Sectional views. Dimensioning.
|
Assembly Drawings
Parts drawings, parts lists, fabrication information. Assembly drawings of parts.
