Module Description: This module has been designed to identify a) the steps and responsibilities during a project life cycle b) some of the common codes and standards applicable to project management c) changes in the process and building services industry.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Describe the responsibilities of process & building services project managers.
LO2 Describe the steps involved in process & building services project management.
LO3 Describe some of the codes and standards applicable to process & building services project management.
LO4 Discuss the impact of changes in the economy on the building services profession.
LO5 Produce an outline project brief for a process services project.

Project organisation & sructures, estimating, tendering, contracts, site mobilisation, contract variations, commissioning, handover, resource requirements, timescales.
Codes and Standards
Health and Safety at Work Act, ISO 9000, 14001, 50001 & 27001. Quality Systems Auditing, Continuous improvement.
Economic Factors
National energy policy. Life cycle costing.
