  (a) A broad knowledge and understanding of the wide and varied range of activities constituting Quantity Surveying, including Construction Technology, Management, Surveying, Development Appraisal, Construction Finance, Cost Planning and Control, Procurement Choice, Construction Law and Contract, Bill of Quantities Production and Pricing.
PO2 Knowledge - Kind
  (a) The ability to apply knowledge and skills of Construction Technology, Management, Surveying, Development Appraisal, Construction Finance, Cost Planning and Control, Procurement Choice, Construction Law and Contract, Bill of Quantities Production and Pricing to manage complex construction projects from a commercial perspective, from conception to completion.
PO3 Skill - Range
  (a) The ability to use advanced techniques, skills and computer based tools to think creatively, broadly and effectively in both qualitative and quantitative terms.

  (a) The ability to adapt successfully to change, provide for new construction technologies and accommodate wider professional responsibilities and ethical standards.

  (a) The intellectual ability to comprehend concepts and ideas arising from a variety of construction-related disciplines including science, technology and the arts, to analyse, make value judgements and propose practical and economically viable solutions to construction problems, in a multi- dimensional information environment, matched to the client’s specific requirements rather than presenting standard or traditional construction solutions.

  (a) The ability to work effectively as an individual, as part of a multi-disciplinary team and communicate with all others involved in the construction process and to lead multiple, complex and heterogeneous groups.

  (a) The ability to maintain professional competence as a Quantity Surveyor through individual study and continuing professional development.

  (a) An understanding of the wider social, political, business and economic context within which the Quantity Surveyor operates and the need for high ethical standards in its practice, including the responsibilities of the Quantity Surveying profession towards people and the environment.
