  (a) A fundamental understanding of the theory, concepts and methods in the engineering sciences, electronics technologies, mathematics, information and communications systems, business and entrepreneurship, as well as in the design, and engineering practice relevant to the electronics engineer.

  (a) A specialised knowledge and understanding of the engineering sciences, electronic technologies, mathematics, ICT, design, business and engineering practice to the analysis and solution of electronic engineering technology problems while taking into account any inherent limitations.
PO3 Skill - Range
  (a) The ability to specify and use appropriate methods, skills and techniques, incorporating modern computer-based engineering tools, to solve a range of complex problems within the domain of electronic engineering.
PO4 Skill - Selectivity
  (a) The ability to conceptualise and design an electronic component, system or process to meet specified needs from the business or technical communities and to carry out an evaluation of the technical and environmental performance of the design to identify strengths and limitations.
PO5 Competence - Context
  (a) The ability to identify, analyse and conduct research into electronic engineering problems and to devise, develop and formulate appropriate solutions while understanding the social and ethical context of electronic engineering.
PO6 Competence - Role
  (a) The ability to work autonomously, in teams and in multi-disciplinary settings, to set and implement work objectives and priorities and to assume responsibility for the direction of key tasks. The ability to communicate effectively with the engineering community and with society at large.
PO7 Competence - Learning to Learn
  (a) The capacity to identify learning needs and to undertake continuous learning (including lifelong learning and continuing professional development), incorporating the ability to closely and continuously follow progress in electronic engineering and related topics by consulting newly published works, assimilating such information and applying it independently.
PO8 Competence - Insight
  (a) An understanding of the wider social, business and economic contexts within which the electronic engineer must operate and the need for high ethical standards in the practice of the profession including responsibilities towards people, society and the environment; appreciate the impact of engineering solutions in a global, contemporary, societal, commercial and environmental context supported by the interpretation and application of appropriate safety considerations and standards.
