Description:This modules presents a number of contexts in which the learner develops the skills necessary to be an active, informed and critical ensemble musician and audience member
Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to
  1. Recognise and describe the stylistic features of music from the High Baroque period
  2. Participate successfully as an active member of a large ensemble
  3. Apply critical evaluation to the performance of others and new repertory
  4. Assimilate knowledge and awareness gained through attending public concerts

  • Repertory Studies
    A survey of representative works from the 17th to the 20th centuries
  • Concert Attendance
    Audited attendance at five specified concerts by approved performers
  • Large Ensemble Performance
    Rehearse and perform with one of the large ensembles of the CSM
