Module Description: Object Oriented Server side development using object oriented technologies & techniques
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
LO1 Create dynamic web pages using an object oriented programming language.
LO2 Create dynamic web pages using OO scripting language & interface to server components.
LO3 Develop custom scripting tags to invoke component objects.
LO4 Implement web interface presentation layer with a Rich Internet Applications framework.

Indicative Content
Server Side OO Programming
OO server side processing using a frameworks such as servlets, OO web program life cycle, processing post/get. Reqest/Response interface, HTTPRequest/Post interface, session tracking, cookies.
Server Side OO Scripting
OO serverside scripting using e.g.JSP, JSP directives, mapping of OO scripting lifecycle to OO server side programs. Creating methods & classes in a OO scripting language
Extending OO programs and scripts
Extending a oo scripting language using custom tags, creation and interaction with standard JavaBean components. Use of commmon server side OO pattern e.g. MVC. Supporting OO frameworks such as Java Collections Framwork
Presentation Layer
Ajax & integration with server side objects. Compare and then use 1 Rich Internet Applicaton framwork such as Vaadin, Google Web Took kit, JSF, jquery, Apache Pivot, Java FX
